Trojans senior running back Sherman Gilbert carried the ball 23 times for a game-high 136 yards, but the Texans keyed on him nearly every play as one would expect.

"He had a good night running," Barbay said. "He didn't break off any long runs like he normally does."

Gilbert, who has been offered by Lamar and is also being recruited by Houston, North Texas, Oklahoma State and TCU, said not returning to the state finals is tough.
