The longer he is at SMU the better...

The Devil went up to Pittsburgh, he was looking for a coach to steal and got one.

With results like this, I say they give him a ten year extension.

HoopManX should be along soon for spin control.

If I remember I don't think he was ever a fan of doh but did claim that SMU had a pretty good recruiting class this year.

It helps Jackson State that Kelsey Howard hit 5 threes and accounted for nearly 50% of their point total with 27. That's 10+ points higher than his season average.

Kudos to him, but can he keep it going?

My first thought is no: we are too long and athletic to allow anyone like that to go off? The only player to score 20 or more on us was MissState's Moultrie (20).

If I recall correctly, Sam Houston hit quite a few three's against UNT recently...that's what kept them in the game for so long. If UNT doesn't "get out" and defend those three's from Jackson State it might be another rough night.

I'm guessing the team learned a bit from that San Houston outing and won't let that happen against Jackson State.

Not sure it was just luck for SHSU keeping it close, thought Columbia lit us up as well from 3 land, hopefully JJ tightens up the D on the perimeter.

Maybe we should zone-up...

It's easy to blame the Columbia 3's on the defense, but it's really not fair. That was just a case of a team shooting lights out. Against Loyola Marymount they shot 12-19 and against us they shot 12-17. For whatever reason Columbia just was really, really hot in California.
