We have not seen anything substancial on any efforts to get into the realignment mix Mr. Vito. Could you get into offices & ask questions. When you are stonewalled tell us for pete's sake (just think-then you could have real ammunition to bash us),I mean its fixen' to get real quiet over the holidays while we read what other schools are doing to better their position in another conference. Where is our school paper as well, do we have a journalism school. Why don't they start an occupy CUSA in Denton (levity). I mean guys they are much closer to the information problem than us but their silence is on this topic can only mean one thing. And it's not good.

During pre-finals week and finals the NT Daily does not print a paper as also during the Christmas holiday. It's been that way for years.

If you had ever been involved in any merger and acquisition work, you'd know that "silence" is necessarily bad at all. Demanding answers from those either legally or for negotiation purposes obligated to reveal nothing will not get your story and will only burn your source.

Thank goodness June Jones didn't get embarrassed by going public concerning the ASU job before the "I's" were dotted and "T's" crossed.

Because those are bad ideas. Occupy CUSA, the campus paper?

And what are you reading about "other" schools? What newspaper is publishing LA Tech efforts?

Everything written about the CUSA/MWC merger and expansion is mostly obvious.

They need to decided if they want to go with all sports, they are waiting to see what the Big 12 and Big East do next.

That has become pretty clear.

I don't believe that at all. Vito has written plenty of stories that reflect poorly on UNT over the years when the situation warranted it. Remember when he used FOIA to get the drug test results for the team?

Not throwing a 3rd down pass in the 1st half against FIU? Not a peep (actually, more piling on of TD, a Vito tradition. When we lose a bowl game in 3 years, Vito will find. a way to blame TD).

Pardon me if I don't hold my breath for some in depth reporting from Brett Vito.

I just want a reporter who reports. I was a Vito defender in the Dodge era.

Just want the same diligence in the McCarney era. Ain't there.

I give Coach Mac complete credit for being able to manipulate the beat reporter. Just another example of major college coaching experience.

You think Vito should have slammed McCarney's over his first half third down play calling in his first game coaching UNT, a game whose 41-16 result would suggest that a lot more went wrong than a couple third down calls?

Asking tough questions is what reporters are suppose to do. Vito hasn't done it all year. Might as well just read Meangreensports.com. You'll get the same info.

      Around the League / UNT Opponents

      figure one main thread to keep track of how our opponents are faring. the AAC is off to a pretty strong start...overall record of 29-7. plus currently Oregon State, High Point and Utah State / St. Bonaventure are all 3-0 - Memphis (2-0) with two quality wins v. Mizzou and UNLV. they should be undefeated (though San Francisco isn't a gimmie) heading into a 11/25 game with UCONN. - UAB (2-1)...I thought their loss to Vermont wouldn't look too bad, but UV has two pretty ugly losses now. really intriguing game tomorrow 11/15 v. High Point - FAU (2-1) look tough...their loss was by 6 to UCF who already beat then 13th A&M. - the other undefeated teams, ECU (3-0), Temple (3-0), Tulane (3-0), Tulsa (3-0), Wichita St. (2-0) collectively really haven't played much of a schedule...best win is probably WSU over WKU...but they've made pretty light work of what's in front of them. Games of interest over the next week or so: 11/14 - Northern Iowa @ Wichita State 11/15 - UAB @ HighPoint ; Temple @ Boston College ; FAU v. Charlston and Liberty (11/16) 11/21 - Memphis @ San Francisco ; FAU v. Oklahoma State (3 day tourney...would play Miami or Drake next)

      Sure but how good is Charlotte? They beat Richmond who lost to Marist. Utah State's other D1 win is against 0-3 Alcorn State who lost to an NAIA school. Again too early to really tell either way.

      they dropped 100 on a conference mate. currently 47 in KenPom. Memphis is at 37 and currently our highest rated opponent.

      from reading their board, another key transfer Tyler Cochran was also hurt...averaged 14.5ppg last year for a 20 win Toledo squad. you can only play who's in front of you, though ya...Newell so far just doesn't seem to do much save for be 6'9"...he's an ok shooter, an ok defender, an ok rebounder...he's starting to give Hamir Wright vibes. he's well under his Cal averages (though, those were some bad Cal teams)...hopefully he finds a bit more footing over the next few games, but currently I'm for either Massie or Lorient at the 4
