White, a former high school All-American from Fort Worth, had six career receptions with one touchdown in 20 games.

Texas Longhorns WR Darius White is transferring and wants a fresh start. Might we want to grab him? He is a local kid from FW and he is a sophomore.

OU has two new quitters as well, and possibly two more in coming weeks:

West Orange Stark's James Haynes:

North Mequite's Josh Aladenoye:

Haynes could still transfer and play two. Aladenoye is screwed...has three years in and has already burned his redshirt. He'll have to go FCS.

GMG Guide:

"Quitter" - a player who leaves North Texas before their time here is done. Not a personal attack. Just a statement of fact of a player's status for any team we care about.

"Mean Green Athlete" - includes players who transferred to UNT to play for the only team that matters.

I hope that clears things up a bit.

Reposted AGAIN for those who need it. Again. AGAIN.

Am I reading this wrong.. Aladenoye 2009 Redshirted, 2010 RSFreshman, 2011 RS Sophmore, 2012 RS Junior (sit out), 2013 RS Senior... He could still play one year and only has 2 years in.. Right??

--Are people who change jobs ...quiters.???? ..no

--If a kid thinks there is a better situation for him somewhere else... go. If he left in the middle of a season ..probably so.

A denton product, Taylor Bible, is also looking for a new home. Looks like grades were the issue but he is a DT.

http://espn.go.com/colleges/texas/story/_/id/7349795/sophomore-wide-receiver-darius-white-elects-transfer

Mack recruited Bible when Bible was a junior. Bible suffered a shoulder (IIRC) injury before his senior year, and by the time he reported to Austin, he was overweight and pretty out of shape. From what I've read, there may have been issues with Bible getting into good enough shape to play consistently, and there has been talk about 'buy-in' with their more demanding S&C program since Wylie took over. There appear to be several players in that program that have not, shall we say, "embraced" the much more grueling S&C regimen.

Having said that, Bible definitely has the makings of a monster if he can get his grades/attitude together.

This "quitter" joke needs to be taken out back and shot.

What would Darius White, or any other potential transfer to UNT, think if he found this board while picking schools and saw himself called a quitter? The athlete's not going to understand that it's an inside joke.

The idea that a recruit or transfer bases where they continue their football career on a college's non-affiliated, third-party message board should also be taken out back and shot.

Over the years, I've heard from several players and their parents who read GoMeanGreen.Com. This site ranks highly for search terms related to Mean Green football, so it's not as unlikely as you think that a potential recruit might find it.

Calling them quitters is a stupid joke based on some member's insult of Riley Dodge when he transferred out.

We've not needed quitters that quit way before Rodge. I do agree that calling the misguided youths deciding to leave other football programs "Quitters" is stupid.

People just cant seem to "Get it."

Players that leave other programs to come to North Texas = enlightened

Players that leave another program to go somewhere else that is not North Texas = who cares

Players that leave North Texas prematurely = quitters.

It's not hard, folks.
