Mark Lewis didn’t start full-time for his high school team as a running back until his senior season.

What the Livonia (La.) High standout showed in that short time attracted the attention of college coaches from across the region, including those at North Texas.

Lewis visited UNT over the weekend and orally committed a short time later, largely because of what he heard about the progress the Mean Green made in its first season under head coach Dan McCarney.

UNT went 5-7 in its debut campaign under the former Iowa State head coach and hammered Middle Tennessee 59-7 in its last game. UNT had won just five games in its previous two seasons combined.

“I really like the facilities, the stadium and all that, but what I really liked is that the program is starting to turn around,” Lewis said. “They were one win from a bowl game. I feel like I can help the program take the next step.”

I wonder why other programs haven't jumped on board yet...

5-11, 220, confirmed 4.51, benches 350 as a senior in highschool... looks pretty solid to me.

Seems like more of a LB/S to me. Not that fast for a RB. Based on his highlights, his level of competition was low. He's only 5-11 but he looked 6-4 in those videos. So that and the fact that it seems like he wants to play rb may have kept some people away. That and the fact he wasnt a rb until this season. Either way he looks like a good athlete, a good kid, and a good get.

If he is physical enough to break through the line and knock a few sumbitches over, once he gets into the secondary, I'll take the ability to knock a safety on his ass combined with a 4.5 any day.

      Softball vs. UAB (4/17 & 4/18/25)

      Mother Nature disrupts another softball series. With Easter on Sunday, and bad weather expected Saturday, the ladies will play one game tomorrow and a doubleheader Friday starting at 3 PM. Tight race in The American as we enter the last three conference series. UNT needs two wins this series to match their win total from last year. I maintain getting a top two seed is the highest priority but we are right there with #1 FAU and hold the tiebreaker, the only team in the conference to do so. Other Series This Weekend FAU @ East Carolina Memphis @ South Florida UTSA @ Charlotte Wichita State @ Tulsa I don't foresee South Florida or Charlotte losing this weekend, so a sweep at home against UAB is almost necessary.

      We’re not alone

      I read somewhere before the teams were even seeded that Florida, Auburn, Duke, and Houston were a step above every other team. There was some metric/stat they showed to back up the statement. So, yes, I think those teams were accurately seeded…though TT almost had something to say about it.

He reported also that Johnson left towards the end of the season. I knew I didn't see her any longer, but I thought maybe injuries, but it turns out she left like Abou did a few years back. Brackens went into the portal and has since landed at Tarleton State. The only people he says that are coming back are Tac, who was injured all season, Chania Price, and Talley.
