nope, i did the same thing...but was happily greeted with having to scroll back up! surprised that we are only a few spots below smu

It's a job. Everyone wants the coaching job that pays the most money for the longest period of time.

Honestly, I was very pleasantly surprised to see where we were ranked. Probably would have been considerably lower this time last season.

To a point, but there are other things people value. For example, some people will take a job with average pay in exchange for less stress, quality of living, location, or any number of other factors. For most people, I think money only plays in so much as the salary is competitive based on the level of responsibility.

As bad as we've been I was surprised we were even that high. A little bit of winning and we could easily get to top 50 on that list.

Yep...if it's all about the money, don't bother with the Service Academies. If it is something more than the $$$$, the service academies are exactly what you are looking for in a coaching job. Tough places to coach due to the financial constraints, the academic qualifications, the admission process, size limitations, etc., etc., but the guys that do heed the call are not having to collect food stamps either. Can you imagine coaching a group of young men like those attending any of the service academies? Wow! It would be an honor!

It's really surprising about some of the schools below us. BTW, under enrollment are they just counting undergraduates? Because they list our enrollment as 21K and Texas as 35K.

I think so. It makes sense because there is more allegiance to your undergrad school.

Second to last on the list in drafted players with 1 (tied with Duke and above only WKY.... I don't count the service academies for obvious reasons).

It seems player development was something that DD and TD had in common.

Unt has undergrads of around 28k and grad of 8k..
