Dan McCarney was still soaking wet after standing out in the rain for hour after hour on a miserable night at Apogee Stadium late Saturday.

His first thought?

Man, I wish we could do that again.

Not experience the rain or the wind, but another game with a team that might have finally turned the program back in the right direction after one of the darkest eras in the history of UNT athletics.

“The first thing that comes to mind is that I sure would like to have another game to coach with these guys,” McCarney said after the final game of his first season as UNT’s head coach. “Especially after this game, wouldn’t it be fun to go to practice and get ready for the next one? We won’t get that, but every team that beat us is bowl-eligible and we made major progress with the program.”

The Mean Green dominated from the opening coin flip to the final gun in one of its most complete performances in years.

I'll tell you one thing after reading that article: I am freaking pumped about the future of this football program. Great times are ahead and I have never felt so confident about it. GMG!
