Senators (Congress) aims to help NCAA regulate athlete payments (and prevent split among schools)
Texas has 38 members of Congress and 2 Senators. Of that total, only 4 graduated from UT (undergraduates) plus 3 with a UT JD, 0 graduated from A&M, 0 graduated from a Big 10 school, and 1 graduated from Notre Dame. The Big 12 has 3 TX Tech graduates, 2 UH graduates plus 2 UH JD, and 1 TCU graduate. The ACC has a UVA graduate and a Stanford graduate. The majority are graduates of schools that are not affiliated with any of the above leagues including 4 graduates from military academies and 3 Ivy League graduates. The unaffiliated may get contributions from the alums from other schools but I don't believe that support for the power 2 is a foregone conclusion with regards to any legislation. That being said, I am not convinced that if this issue is addressed legislatively that the NCAA will be given sufficient power to accomplish the objective. -

24/25 MBB Attendance Tracker
Not only is there not a good % of UNT people working for the Athletic Department, the WB/JM administration actually ran off the ones that were there. They don't seem to see any value in having people with UNT ties in the department and instead viewed them as a detriment. -

Denton, America ???
Those of you that attend North Texas Men’s basketball, have you noticed Rob Coffey’s introduction line ? Rob welcomes fans to “Denton, America !” I’ve noticed this the last 3 home games. I asked him about it Wednesday and he said, (paraphrase) “I just read what they hand me.” Which makes sense, but why have we abandoned Texas in the intro ? Texas is and always has been part of our name. The only time I’ve ever heard “Denton, America” was when Smith Brother’s Roping was going great guns. While I’m proud to be an American, when asked, I tell people I’m from Denton, TEXAS. Has anybody else noticed this ?- 1
