SHSU has just 3 wins against non Div1 opponents and also lost by 16 @UT.

If this team can continue to grow more mature with better shot selections and limit mental errors they should get the W.

Loved the rebounding today vs LMU.

I'll definitely be at the game, but tailgating for a basketball would be a first. How does that even work? Just like football? I'll blame being a girl for asking silly questions. :)

You show up early, you sit in the parking lot, you cook/eat, and most people drink.

It's like football tailgating, but colder and lonelier.

Game tips at 7pm. If we can get enough committed I'll have a tailgate set up by 5. I figure a small grill, some brats and a bunch of beer? One tent affair or two?

Count me in for a 5 pm tailgate!

I have a small charcoal grill if we need one. I do not have a tent though.

why doesn't everyone just go to cabana and spike their cheap/weak margs with your own tequila like i do before every B-ball game?

it's substantially warmer than Fouts parking lot will be.

I've got all the stuff we'll need...tent, grill, flags.

I'm thinking Clark lot so as to potentially attract straglers from campus.

Also... Cold. And if there's any sort of delay on paperwork and he isn't cleared until the 20th... It'll be a shivering, angry, bitter bunch of people hanging around that parking lot.

Yes, but properly equiped with beverages (beer, Mean Green Cool-Aid, and hot chocolate for the kids) and food...

Anyways, if people decide to tailgate that game I would be down for going, and bringing some bacon wrapped duck (and dove if I have any left) to toss on a grill with maybe some brats and burgers.

only 5 pm???? not that i normally tailgate for a bball game...only done it once...is two hours before gametime plenty of time to get the tailgate on???

      PAC is back

      I grew up with "Eagles" and have never liked " Mean Green ", because we are not mean [look at our football record ] and not green [ we have an underfunded athletic department.] I agree with lack of media contracts as a deal breaker but don't know if we would want the travel required for all sports anyway. The BIG MOUNTAIN WEST podcast brought the subject up stating that the PAC and Texas State were in serious discussions and if they came then UNT or UTSA would be their next logical target so you may want to watch it. I don't have an opinion as I am really surprised that NIU joined the MWC for football only. According to the MAC bylaws you must have all your programs in the conference in order to be a member. Unless they change them then NIL's best option appears to be the MVC for all other sports but who knows.

      as a lot of big time coaches have said... if you want to immediately improve your team, getting everyone's effort levels up will do that... Since McCasland started his run, the Mean Green have been all about effort, and Hodge has done an excellent job of transitioning into the HC role. It's been talked about ad nauseum, but the Mean Green have an identity. The identity is f*ck you, you aren't going to get easy passes, be able to breathe with the ball in your hands and you're going to be complaining to the refs all game about how physical the team is. It's going to be ugly, and we are betting that we are going to be better than you in the last five minutes of the game. Credit to Hodge for bringing in the right players to keep this thing moving forward. I am looking forward to the rest of the season and hoping for some hardware

      the facilities look great. Unfortunately, unless things change around Denton quickly, the reality is that SMU is playing a completely different game than the Mean Green, good luck to you, but i don't know why you are coming on here to post topics of a team you probably won't play again for a long time... (maybe basketball) Good luck to you.
