Yep, SEC won that year just like they will this year as there is no other option. The second rate (couldn't even win it's conference division crown much less its conference crown) SEC team is playing the legitimate best team in the SEC. "Bama didn't even beat as many Top 25 or Bowl teams as OSU did....

BUT, the games still need to be played on the field. If Alabama beats LSU and OSU beats Stanford do we get a 3-way national champ? Seems Alabama would not deserve an outright championship after already being beaten in a "snoozer" of a game by LSU earlier in the season.

Nothing will really be settled this year unless LSU wins and OSU loses...then no one can lay claim to the title except LSU.

As an OSU alum and fan i am most happy to be in the BCS Fiesta Bowl...it's a decent consolation prize for being cut out of the championship game...and a decent payout at $17million. So, all is not bad.

Only bad thing is that my beloved Mean Green is not going bowling this year...but I expect they will next season! All the rest of this discussion is just consolation prizes to me.

It doesn't matter b/c LSU beats both...and probably anyone you chose to throw at 'em.

The one team I'd like to see get a shot is Boise...if only b/c their coaching staff is second to none. Tell me that given a month to prepare, they wouldn't at least give LSU, and the fans, an entertaining game to watch. The Bama/LSU rematch isn't going to be close now that Jordan Jefferson has knocked all the rust off.
