Chance to compete in 2014 @ UT. Should parlay this with chance to compete with A$M since TCU as a Big 12-2 member had rather play TN Tech, NW St., or ULM rather than UNT. As much as I despise SMU at least they are on the 2014 schedule for now. I missed the last game with SMU as my wife planned a trip to Hawaii on that date saying she was embarrased by my conduct at SMU games and would never attend another one with me. I do not consider any contest with SMU to be a game, but rather a war with the enemy who has for decades tried to downgrade UNT. Paid $50. to SMU for streaming video in Maui, but not like being there. Until we beat some of these people just like former NT QB from San Antonio, Rick Shaw, quoted to Randy Galloway years ago " North Texas is a nothing school from a nobody league"

I don't even know where to start...

A few things I am about 100% certain about:

*If we "compete" with UT in 2014 by finishing within 4 TDs of them, I will be beyond thrilled.

*I have never heard anyone call a football game between UNT and SMU a war, so that is cool that you are the first to call it that.

*We did beat SMU a few years ago, so I guess that means we are no longer a "nothing school", although I do believe we still play in a "nobody league".

Do you want more good news ? We're 3-4 so far in a "nobody league." Why would a potential "somebody" league want North Texas ?

Think about this Saturday when it's "too cold," or "too early," or "my wife's best friend's cousin is getting married."

While most of us can't coach or play, we can be present. So we must do what we can to help this program. There's nobody else left to do it.

Beat Middle Tennessee
