I likey... This man is bound and determined to develop kids for 4 years... I am very interested in seeing what happens next season. Another season of real coaching and development is gonna be fun to watch...

I really hope chico and bowen stay put for atleast 2 more years.

Shoss I do too! Dickey was like this although he would take cream of the crop Sun Belt ( with multiple high level SBC offers) or immediate impact players to address particular need areas like Darrell Daniels, etc. The way Mac is doing this can lead to long term depth and success. Eventually you get yourself in a position where 75% of your freshman classes are redshirting and you are reloading versus rebuilding.

Can you imagine a world where we are being described in these terms? Dogs and cats, living together...MASS HYSTERIA!

I don't know. This works for the Texas and OUs of the World, but it's because they know they don't have to take chances on kids that may or may not develop. It seems to me you that would be a lot harder to do it at UNT due to the talent level of recruits that we are able to attract.

Personally, I think you take talent wherever you can find it. Trust me, if anyone in the JUCO top 25 wants to sign with UNT, Mac won't be turning them away. I think this is just more coach talk, in which Coach Mac has a doctorate.

I agree UNT90. I think in theory we must build the program through high school players and fill in with JUCO's in areas of dire need. As I mentioned earlier, I prefer high school recruits, but feel it would be short-sighted to not pursue JUCO players in positions of need that are highly rated.
