Wait a minute. SMU fans have heard of Rice, they have a winning record and Rice is a Texas team...I thought this was a guaranteed recipe for a sellout??

Could it be, gasp, more about fans not putting a value on supporting their Alma mater and less about the silly ass excuses? Nah, that's just silly.

The announcer said 18,000 that seems high. To their credit pretty miserable weather.

Miserable how? It's cool outside but not unbearable. There's no rain so I don't see how it's that bad.

Sounds like that pending Big East membership has truly taken SMU's football program over the top

Wonder if CUSA Commish' Brit Banowsky really knows (or cares) how different it would be for a "winning" UNT football program in CUSA versus the one who plays before stadium attendants on Game Day over in University Park ?

Yet.........anyone else notice during this whole re-alignment process there has been a strange silence from Brit Banowsky's office? He ain't sed' sheat 'bout no one (or school).

As I feared, this damn MWC/CUSA alliance will be their excuse not to expand but ..............not even in the largest TV market in the whole damn CUSA and where their offices are headquarted? Sorry, I just don't get it.

GMG!

Both schools' student enrollment combined probably equals about half of UNT's. Lets keep things into perspective here.

Rice is about the worst example you can use in college football. They didn't even bring 100 to fouts

I'm sure if we played MTSU today there would be less than 5K at Apogee

Not a chance w/ thanksgiving.

Nov 29, 2008 vs. Arkansas State = 9761

Nov 24, 2007 vs. WKU = 5,027 (sleet/rain/shitty weather)

Nov 26 2005 vs. Arkansas State = 7,691

historical data shows that today would have been over 5,000.

I'd reply but it's pointless to argue with stupid

"Nov 29, 2008 vs. Arkansas State = 9761

And two of those numbers were during what I like to call the dark ages. A time when hope was overshadowed by despair. A time when innocence was lost. A time when...

There were maybe 4000 or 5000 at the SMU game, NT with crummy teams and playing at Fouts on Thanksgiving weekend has not been close to that bad. Some of you seem to take great delight in complaining about NT's attendance issues, but they are far from unique. Lets make a rule anyone who comments negatively about NT attendance has to actually go to the games. My biggest wish is that NT had SMU attendance counters, I think NT made a big mistake not inflated the attendance in the first three home games. Until the NCAA puts some teeth in their reporting attendance procedures, honesty is foolish. No matter how crazy the count is such as SMU having 17k today, down the line it will be quoted as the gospel.

If anyone believes there were over 5,000 at that WKU than maybe you should go take a math class.

Make fun of SMU all you want , but we do the samething w/ #'s. All colleges do it. I'm talking about actual people in the stands

smu attendance today was 14,400+...yes, that wku game was miserable...probably not 5,000 in the stands, but i do believe there were at least as many as were in the stands th smu today. the wku game sucked balls..if it weren't for some friendly tailgaters, i'd have frozen my nuts off.

our attendance is so much better than theirs...we don't have an attendance problem, per se. granted, we dont get 20,000+ for every game, but we certainly have a dedicated group of folks that make every game, no matter what...and that number is close to 10,000, i believe...not too bad.

Our attendance should always be higher no matter what. We have so much more alumni . Maybe I just have higher expectations, if we don't have 20,000 + every game then I think we have a problem. Let's raise the bar around here. I know we can't do it over night and it will take time , hopefully we are on the right track
