Okay, so UNT loses to UTA 97-64! I didn't watch the game and I just got back home and pulled up the score and thought there was a typo. Wasn't this team supposed to be a top 30 class??? (without Tony Mitchell). I don't care how "out of it" the players may have been or if we played without some starters, this score is completely embarrassing to the program and JJ needs to step it up by making the players realize that their "talent" needs to be SHOWN at the games. They won't win by simply showing up to the games....it doesn't work that way. What a disappointment.

I mean...I didn't expect this exactly.. But crap happens sometimes to young teams, and many of us were warning of a potentially bumpy season (at least early).

We'll get much better.

There is NO leader on this team! No one to light a fire. When you combine that with our inexperience tonight was bound to happen.

I'm sorry, but that's just an excuse. With such "talent" and apparently Chris Jones being the "leader" thus far in the first couple of games, I don't see how a team like this can go in there and play such horrible basketball. Every game counts and every game should be played with intensity. I hope we don't get demolished by Miss St. and Texas.

I always enjoy when a post begins with "I wasn't at the game" and ends with what the coach NEEDS to do.

So I'm assuming we played with two players? When you lose by 33 points against a team you were expected to be competitive against, you don't HAVE to watch the entire game to know things need to be addressed. Did I get into specific/technical issues? You tell me...

This wouldn't be the place for sound logic. Take it to the Eagle's Nest

Uh, better put the razors away then.

Bet you he doesn't even bleed green.

Let me say also that I have seen Unt play bad before but Uta played a perfect game today. So props to Uta.

UTA couldn't miss, and they forced a young team to deal with tons of pressure. Their defensive intensity was there.

UTA is a good team, and might be one of the few this year that could match our size. They may be in it come tourney time. They have the horses and the coaching.

Their stage sucks ass for opponents, and I doubt our young guys played in anything resembling that in HS. Good riddance.

All of these are excuses for a terribly officiated, terribly played game for North Texas. Such a shitty night, but like I said last week, it's a long road trip and hopefully when they return, they've got some things figured out.

I honestly didn't expect this team (don't care how young) to play this way. This is the worst loss for a UNT Men's BB team since January of 2004 when we played Arkansas! I honestly believe some of these young players entered the game with a lot of cockiness and were in for a big surprise. Hopefully this will teach a big lesson.

I didn't make this game , but I'm wondering if maybe this team is " coasting " until T Mitch joins them ? I know it's only a few games , maybe I'm just thinking outloud and upset

Just a thought

You don't play against opponents, you play against the game of basketball.

No one saw this one coming, obviously. I agree with the cockiness of the team. Need to play smarter instead of trying to out talent people.

I might agree with the coasting. I hope they don't get used to that shit and stand around to watch Tony win games for us.

Just plain pathetic.

pathetic was not hitting a free throw or getting bodies on people after missed shots, and letting guys blow right past you on defense.

That Top 30 ranking was a joke when it came out! Not to knock you but fans of these message boards need to stop believing all this bs that these recruiting services put out. We had commitments from about 5 guys early in the process. That ranking was more about that than anything else.

Rankings are rankings. Point is, you can't deny this is one of the teams with most talent and expectations ever at UNT. Today's performance was ridiculous for a team with any level of decent talent. This needs to be a wake-up call.
