...they've won two games in overtime, and a third on a last second field goal. So, it's not like they're running out and dominating anyone.

Their last three games:

-Overtime win versus ULM, 31-28

-Last second FG win over FIU, 10-9

-Loss to LSU scrimmage playbook, 9-42

So, in the last three games, they've scored a whopping 47 points in regulation, and 3 in overtime.

Not really sure why everyone is quaking in their boots with these guys. They've been more lucky than good.

If we play as well as we have at home, and Derrick Thompson isn't knocked out of the game, this one shouldn't be the fistfight everyone says it is.

Dunbar vs. Rainey? Who cares. We won on the road with Dunbar injured for most of the game. Deuce Hamilton is as capable of throwing down a 100+ yard game.

No game is a gimme. But, this isn't the mountain some people have tried to make it out to be. The appears to be the type of team that you hit in the mouth early and can control the rest of the day.

Oh...and, they're 5-5, we're 4-6. That's only a one game difference.

Their out of conference:

Kentucky, loss

Navy, loss

Indiana State, loss

LSU, loss

Outside of LSU, they haven't exactly played a murderers row of schools. And, let's get this straight - an FCS school dominated them on their own field.

If this thing goes to the wire, fine. But, don't be surprised if we shut down Rainey and win comfortably by two or three TDs.

Honesty, had we not been "forced" to go to McNulty versus Tulsa and Louisiana, we might also sitting at 5-5 or 6-4.

Yeah, we're a healthy starting QB in two games from already being bowl eligible or very close. How's that for a turnaround?

I am very much excited about seeing this game at Apogee Palace. Are they world beaters? NO. Are they a solid belt team this year... YES.

I was impressed with their showing at LSU, but I would imagine that LSU put about 5 minutes of game planning into that one...

Their offensive and defensive lines were what impressed me the most against LSU. That is what worries me about this game. But, it does appear that our offensive line is starting to gel with the youngsters, and the d-line appears to be holding up...although they were worrying me towards the end of the troy game by allowing Troy to run the ball... Weary of Rainey in the 4th quarter.

We shall see. Apogee HAD BETTER BE ROCKIN! It doesn't look like crowd noise intimidates them though...

It's hard to say...On one hand it sure looks like a team that circled the wagons after being embarrassed by Indiana St. They played ASU tough and appear to have turned the corner after that. The game I want details on is FIU. They held FIU to 180 total offensive yards---52 on the ground, 128 through the air. That's damn impressive. So what the heck happened?? Was that game played in a wind storm or a monsoon?? It looks like Carroll played the entire game for FIU and FIU only turned it over once (early). Were there major injuries for FIU? Or...did WKU just flat out dominate their offense?

WKU's success, lucky or earned, can be crudely boiled down to two factors: establishing the run and their defense showing up. Kawaun Jakes is not a QB who will beat you throwing the ball. Bobby Rainey will absolutely beat you running the ball. WKU's defense is damned good against the pass, hence how they managed to stifle Hilton and Times. They can be run upon, though.

So, keep them from establishing the run and, at the same time, establish the run on them.

Absolutely agree. UNT will have to have success running in order to open up the pass. On defense, they have to stop Rainey and make the QB throw.
