Andrew Tucker – 205 yards on 15 carries – over 13.5 yards per carry

Head Coach Thomas Sitton’s comment regarding Andrew Tucker. “He’s a big kid, he runs hard, he runs fast and he’s very hard to tackle.”

Rex Rollins – 7 carries for 113 yards and two touchdowns – over 16 yards per carry

Sir Calvin Wallace – created mayhem in the middle of the defensive line, and made at least two tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

Number 1-ranked Chapel Hill (11-0) will face undefeated and 10th-ranked Waco La Vega (11-0) next week in the regional round. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Bowers Stadium on the campus of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

The fact that Chapel Hill beat Jasper so handily is very impressive. Year in and year out, Jasper is one of the top "Deep East Texas" schools in football. Several players have gone on to become top college and professional football players. Sean Weatherspoon (Missouri, Atlanta Falcons) is the latest that comes to mind. Weatherspoon

Great win for CH and our UNT commits.

Thanks for the response.

I am really not trying to toot CH's horn by posting these updates - but this is a team with 30 seniors out of its' 38 or so players. They were in the state championship game last year, and unless they stumble badly they will be in the championship game this year.

All three of the UNT recruits have missed 3 - 4 games this year; in addition the star QB went down with a broken ankle in the first half of the Carthage game along with Tucker; and the coaches moved players around and CH continued being equally productive (note the two closest games of the season were back-to-back Carthage and Hallsville, both playoff teams - but once the backup QB settled in the remaining CH games were not close. The starting QB came back for the final game of the regular season).

Just FYI - I have no personal tie to CH other than the fact that my wife teaches math in the CH middle school - so I have no tie to any of our commits.

The CH team was impressive last year, and we got Lairamie Lee from that team. Three of this team's seniors have committed to UNT and, honestly, in past years there are at least 2 - 3 more on the team that UNT would have been elated to recruit.

There are a lot of folks here in the CH area, including at least a couple of coaches, that are looking forward to seeing what these young men can do once Dan McCarney has them on the UNT campus - and that is especially true for Sir Calvin Wallace, the 300 pound defensive tackle.

BTW, Jasper had a running back that rang up 240 yards or so on this CH defense - he will be a real "get" for some college or university.

Yes, sir, Sir! Also count on some coaches in Denton, Texas looking forward to seeing what Mr. Wallace can do.

Thanks for keeping us all posted on the CH recruits...great to see the write-ups. Hopefully, CH can go deep into the playoffs without the UNT recruits picking up any new injuries...and win a few more games in the final year of their HS careers.

Appreciate the updates....
