Troy, who lost to Monroe 38-10 at home, is favored by 8 this weekend? Is it our ongoing saga of road woes? Our lack of quarterback? Our shade of green? Fallout from Paterno misdeeds? Can we pull off our first and only road win of the season? Will we? I know we're excited about Sonoma St. aspiring to join the Big Beast Conference and the entire state of Pennsylvania being declared off limits to minors, but there is a HUGE 3-game stretch coming up.

I think it is because the Stars are the best team in the NHL so far. The national media and the sports books are bitter that we have the best hockey team in the universe and DFW doesn't even know it...thus UNT is getting punished with unflattering lines...

Could we finally beat Troy? hmmmm... I can't wait to see on Saturday!

Very solid post. Ryder had a great game last night alongside the super duo of Benn and Loui. I believe that means we're due for a road win.

All this points to a UNT road win at troy, obviously...

I'm really not. It's hard for me to get into hockey for 6 months. Same reason I could careless about college bball outside of UNT (please NBA, get your act together).

However, I am going to a Stars game next week.

I was correct in predicting us to win 5 games this year and be 5-7. I hope I am

incorrect, but I think that would be a great improvement over 2-3 wins per year.

I also believe we will end up with 7-8 wins next year. I feel we will beat Troy

and Mid Tenn, but am very concerned over Western Kentucky the way they have been

playing. I am holding out hope for 6-6 but will just have to hope for the best with

our quarterback situation that he can play three more games without being hurt again.

Man, can you imagine a .500 season this year? Wow...zackly...

Chew on this one...yes, we haven't won a road game yet... lost to FIU, Alabama, Tulsa, U LALA, and Arkie State... So, is this the MOST winnable road game of the year so far? Yes, and it isn't even close...

Also, for the rest of the season and "possibly" achieving a .500 record for the season, WE HAVE NOT SEEN A HOME LOSS SINCE SEPT. 10TH!!! Are you kidding me? Wow man...just wow. Sooo dominant at home...

Is .500 Possible? yes... likely? ok, I still don't think so, but it sure is fun to see improvement...

I would take that bet, except for this. And this is an absolutely true story. In 20 years, I have never once made a winning sports bet. Not...one...time. Not for real money, not for pretend money.

So what would happen in this case is that Troy wins 34-30. You would take my money, and UNT would still lose.

Incidentally, my offer to make any one of you a millionaire still stands. We go to Vegas on any given weekend, and you stake me to make $5 bets on each and every available sporting event. I bring all of my tickets back to you, and you in turn go make $5,000 bets on each and every available sporting event going against every one of my bets. I promise, hands down, that you will win every...single...bet. I ask a mere 25% cut of the profits for my wisdom (or lack thereof).

So you'd be betting on yourself to lose your bets. And you've never won a sports bet. So I think I'd need another bet to bet against you losing, because then you'd be winning. Wait... I mean, what constitutes winning again?
