Nigel Dixon (6'11" 350 lbs) has officially transferred to WKU to play basketball. He will be eligible next season and stated that he wanted to play for a winner and for a more prestigious program ( saw that on the news, wow!).

I challenge anybody in the state of Texas to go toe-to-toe with WKU this year. Hell anybody in the Big 12 for that matter because they are for real. They simply reload next year when Marcus leaves and Dixon suits up. Too bad their schedule hasn't been released yet. I think it is weak again this year from what I have heard.

As far as the schedule goes it's shaping up to be decent. We're playing the Globetrotters again in a pre-season exhibition, then open the season on the road at Arizona. Also included are games at Detroit, Illinois St. at home, a home game in the bracket buster, vs Auburn in Nashville, TN, Rainbow Classic in Hawaii, at Pacific, VCU in Diddle, at Evansville, Southern Miss in Diddle. By no means is that the toughest schedule but it's not to bad. Louisville and Mississippi St both pushed return visits back a year on us.

UT should be pretty nice this year, TJ Ford is amazing and better than anyone WKU has.

I wouldn't count out our chances against them either, Chris Davis catches on fire, Jerome hits a few big 3's, lookout...

Nigel Dixon is an interesting player. He has already lost quite a bit of weight since he first enrolled at Florida State, but he needs to lose about 75 more pounds to reach his potential. Although he started last season he was only able to average about 17 minutes a game because of poor stamina.

Imagine a basketball player that can't run or jump. That's Nigel Dixon. He gets some rebounds because he takes up so much space and opposing players can't move him out of position. If he loses weight, he might make a decent replacement for Marcus. Otherwise, he appears to be out of place in WKU's running game.

Western Kentucky is usually a pretty good program but to compete in the Big XII??? No way, there are too many snakepit arenas and too many good teams in our conference. I'm sure that our coach would take you up on the challenge but our schedule for this coming season is full. Almost our entire team is back from a year ago from a Sweet 16 NCAA finish.

They beat Kentucky last year in Rupp arena and Louisville canceled their game (postponed actually) with WKU this year. They are tough and it isn't out of the question for them to meet Texas in the tourney in March.

Kentucky basketball is a notch or 2 above Texas and I can't be covinced otherwise. Too many National Titles and Final eight and final four appearances from secondary schools to make me think otherwise.

Did you know WKU made it to the final Four once?
