The Sun Belt Soccer tournament starts tomorrow. Here is what the bracket looks like:

1) North Texas

8) Troy

4) Western Kentucky

5) Middle Tennessee (Host)

3) Denver

6) South Alabama

2) Florida International

7) Arkansas State

North Texas plays at 4pm CT tomorrow afternoon. I'm buying the tourney pass to watch online, so I'll be posting updates for people who might be interested.

NT defeated Troy 4-1 at home earlier this year. The only team in the tournament that NT lost to was FIU (1-0 on the road). We are on the better side of the bracket, but MTSU is always tough at home, and I expect them to get past WKU.

Go Mean Green!

Denver advances with a 2-0 win over South Alabama.

Next up: The NORTH TEXAS MEAN GREEN vs. Troy at 4pm!!

Go Mean Green!

P.S. I'm lonely in this thread. :(

I hope "Jackie Says No" throughout the tournament.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying the updates.

1-0 NT at the half. All of the games have been pretty competitive today.

Plus one on each of your post. Thanks for the updates.

Mean Green advance with a 2-0 victory over Troy. The game was completely dominated by North Texas, and hopefully we got some of the missed scoring opportunities out of our system. Good job ladies!

NT will play the winner of WKU/MTSU at 7pm tomorrow night.

Which do we match up best against and why?

I would say it is pretty close to a toss up. We beat MTSU more handily, but that was on a Sunday after MTSU had played in Denver the Friday night before. Also, MTSU does not lose much at home. If I had to pick who to play, I'd pick WKU.

WKU is up 1-0 at halftime.

Pretty heavy rain in Murfreesboro this morning. 30% chance of rain at gametime. Would like to see the semi's moved to tomorrow, but I doubt that will happen (off day). The field could get beat up after the Denver vs. FIU game at 4:00. We play at 7:00.

FIU advances with a 3-1 win over Denver. Gotta hand it to Denver, they never quit, even to the very end. The amount of pressure they were putting on the FIU defense was unreal. Hopefully it tired them out a little bit, but then again, the teams have an off day tomorrow to recover.
