Not crazy about the 'eyes of North Texas are upon you' line...too much of a UT rip...

I love coach Mac. It's really sad that we are in 7 games in his first season and there is even a question that people aren't going to support him. To have these shirts made means that there are those that don't support him, or are pissed and bitch because we are not contending for the National Championship already 7 games in.

That someone had these shirts made means no such thing . . . It's just another of the multitudinous examples of kneejerk overreactions amongst this fanbase.

Now, if there are any fans out there who don't support Coach Mac or are have turned mutinous because we are not yet contending for a BCS title, please correct me. But I don't believe any such fans exist.

I see your point. I probably had a knee jerk reaction myself. I took this to mean that some fans are 'marketing' for support of Coach Mac. It just never entered my mind that some people had gotten to the point of not supporting him only 7 games in and a campaign was starting to support him. I guess I'm just assuming that there are those groups of fans who have already given up on him and our program. We all know what assuming does...

I Back Mac too, but aren't these kind of things for coaches who have coached beyond 1 year and whose jobs may be in doubt?

I back Coach Chico, too, as his Asst HFC but some of the criticism aimed toward him from this board with what remains from last year's team is uncalled for, IMHO.

Granted, we are all tired of starting over again but it is what it is, folks. Lay back, enjoy the Apogee Experience and just watch this team grow in the next 2-3 years, but moreso.... watch it grow to new heights not seen around these parts for about 4 decades as we most likely are spending our last days in the Sun Belt Conference.

Personally, I like "the Eyes of North Texas" bit. I'd also suggest we start throwing tortillas when we score. We should also get the fans more involved, perhaps give the collective crowd at games clever name. Maybe something like "the 12th Man", because it's almost like the crowd gives us the same kind of edge another player would, if that makes sense.

If we can manage to implement these three things, we should be almost impossible to beat on the recruiting trail in Texas.

      Sounds like the American is not such a bad conference after all and that it should get better. We just need to raise more money and WIN GAMES! I don’t suspect many of us will be suiting up so raising money is our contribution, pun intended!

      I haven't read every piece of news, but my perception was that UTSA was mentioned only after Traylor started publicly making claims that they were in talks with the PAC. From everything that has been reported, the PAC never actually invited UTSA. They may have had the same "talks" that we had...a polite answering the call and turning them down. Those who know for sure aren't saying. What I do know is that the more credible sources only reported that the 3 (Memphis, Tulane and USF) schools turned down the PAC. I think the AAC was forced to put UTSA on their "Committed" graphic only b/c Traylor had been spouting off publicly, and not b/c they had turned down an invite. Read the UTSA AD's statement carefully. Traylor is increasingly turning into a side show for UTSA....especially with them looking to have a very down year this year. A few years ago, right on the heels of him winning CUSA and signing a 10 year contract, the students voted down a measure to increase athletics fees. Next he loses all of his NFL receivers to graduation and NIL/transfer thievery and proceeds to lose it publicly. I think he's finding that the money in UTSA isn't enough to sustain the early success he had and he's going off and doing things on his own. It could work out great....but it could end badly (DD's exit here comes to mind) if he can't get the team back to their previous winning ways.
