I think they are quite interested in the geograpgic convenience UTEP gives them over the other benefits that UNT offers.

But they bring up good points by trying to bring USTA, Texas St, and UNT together.

I'd argue that UTSA, UNT, and Texas St all have great potential. A conference like CUSA or MWC should think about wrapping them up sooner rather than later.

Yes, get that foot in the door to getting back to the safety of the good ole Southland. Before you know it, Sam, Stephen, Mirabeau and the rest of the old gang will come a calling.

If all this conference realignment is about TV and recruiting ... you would think UNT would be the target thanks to the Metroplex television market and recruiting hot bed. Its all about the number of eye balls that have cable and pay those subscription fees. I also see the MWC wanting established D1 programs just because they want that coveted AQ status. I'm not saying they are close to that, but taking D1 start ups probably wouldn't help that regardless how many people UTSA put in the stands. UTEP has history with many of the MWC teams and I think would be our competition again. But it still comes down to the TV market. Given our new commitment to athletics, stadium, athletic village, etc., I think we're higher on the list than many think. I got a hunch that if we move anywhere, MWC is our best bet. Now, I've been known to be very wrong. lol
