I don't take offense to being underdogs, but seriously...9 pts???

Yes, Ull has a solid record, and they just beat Troy, but look who they have played...NO ONE

They beat FIU w/out their QB healthy, and Blakeney himself was concerned about his team in the preseason having a rough year...by their standards anyway...they played a FCS team, and Kent St who is horrible

I guess we will let it be decided on the field Saturday!

La La is 28,and Tulsa is ranked 49 by the same CBS poll. Tulsa took us apart. Does this mean that La LA is almost TWICE as good as Tulsa ?

GO MEAN GREEN

No, it means that Tulsa has more losses. To determine which team is truly better would require research.

That ranking also has ULL in front of Florida, Texas Tech, A&M and others alike. Also has Houston in front of Wisconsin. This ranking only accounts for wins/losses and to a less extent, win margin. All the other factors that matter, aren't accounted for. That's why this CBS ranking is FAR from accurate.

This is the same people who picked Indiana by 7 pts vs us and also us by 4. They don't

give us enough credit. Time will make them change their thoughts.

North Texas by 3 points with the score 24 - 21 N.T.

I believe it's their homecoming. And they had something like 28k+ fans to their last home game, will likely have 30k+ for this one. This will be a tough game and I've zero confidence in our offense (which still only scored 17 points against abysmal FAU).

I'd take ULL with the points, if I was a betting on this one.

But I'm not. So I'll take UNT with my heart. Straight up.

I'm watching the Troy vs. ULL game on ESPN 3 right now and they look to be a much improved team. A couple of things stick out to me in the first half as I watch this:

1) ULL, despite their "nobody" schedule, knows how to win and has been winning consistently. That builds confidence and I think it will translate to the field even more for them next weekend against us.

2) The wins have brought fans to their games. The stands are respectably full and NOISY. I think they will have good attendance next weekend against us and their crowd will be something that we will have to control early to help knock them out of the game. If we don't knock the crowd out early, they will jump on us and make it tough to regain control.

3) Troy made a lot of mistakes that sealed their own fate. Had they not made so many mistakes with fumbles, on-side kicks, penalties, and turn overs, I think they would have won.

All in all, this is going to be a tough game in a tough environment. I think our coaches and players will be able to get it done if they can get going early, take their crowd out of the game, and play smart, consistent, aggressive, and penalty-free football like they did this past weekend.

Times are changing! :-)

ULL is good. Not saying we can't win, we absolutely can - but don't undervalue the Cajuns.

They're basically a win away from ensuring a NO Bowl berth - or utter paradise for Cajun fans. Not to mention they're drawing well, it's their homecoming, and they've got all the confidence in the world.

Meanwhile, we've been more than terrible on the road and haven't beaten a single team with a win over a FBS opponent.

I'm not saying I agree with what these facts are saying, and I'm not saying we won't pull one out in Lafayette - but I'm saying that the Vegas line makes a lot of sense from a gambler's perspective.

Until we can prove we can play well on the road , we will not get any respect from Vegas.

I think we finish 5 - 1 @ home so any road game we can get would be HUGE !
