ECU and UCF to Big East Tomorrow

If you eliminate ECU and UCF, the center of CUSA heads West. I'm pretty sure they are going to pick the right teams for the conference and not just appease Marshall. FIU is probably a no-brainer to replace UCF, but after that, who knows. MTSU does not make a lot of sense, and they do not have a whole lot to offer...nothing more than adding North Texas would.

There is also no reason to think that the Big East is done. ECU and UCF get them to 7, which is the minimum for AQ conferences, but I doubt they stay at 7. Both the MWC, and Big East will likely be looking to get into the Dallas market. If SMU goes to the Big East, we will be the replacement.

Plus, SMU can't keep us out by themselves.

An SMU North Texas rivalry as conference mates would be good for both programs and the league. Get Arkansas State or MTSU to rival with Memphis and now you are developing some good regional CUSA rivalries. I would still rather play the Lobos, Rebels, Falcons, Cowboys, Bulldogs, Wolf Pack and Warriors, but planting instant nasty rivalries would interject some emotion into an otherwise listless Conference USA. Who in CUSA could be ticked off:

SMU - invite North Texas

UAB - invite Troy

Tulane - invite La La

Memphis - invite MTSU and or Arkie State

Let's beat FAU and enhance our chances. Need to keep winning and showing up strong Mean Green Nation! Increase your tailgate camps by 2-4 peeps this weekend!

by the end of the month there probably won't be a big east to go to. depends on if mizzo gets into sec. if they do, then big 12 and acc will put big east out of the football business. however, mizzo shot themselves in the foot trying to move to big 10, and are in danger of doing the same again. they just can't keep mouth shut, with coments referring to fact that if they can't get into big 10, the sec would be a good fallback position. as a result, they ticked off a few sec presidents, and while majority want then in, they don't have necessary votes as of today.[mrsec.com is considered best site for reliable up to date information regarding sec]

If two Belt teams are poached from the east, the Sun Belt will be on shaky ground. I can't think of how this could end well for North Texas.

The Sun Belt is not on shaky ground. Few of its teams are in any danger at all of being invited to a better conference.
