If he goes to another FBS team, he will only have one year of eligibility left correct?

2009-2010 - Played in BCS title game

2010-2011 - Played the whole season

2011-2012 - played this year and got injured

2012-2013 - Sit out due to transfer rules

I guess he could apply for a waiver to get a sixth year and would probably win it, but assuming he get the medical redshirt, I only see 1 year of eligibility left.

He's seeking a medical redshirt for this year. (Mentioned in your post.)

I think he would get two more years to play.

He was at SMU's practice today.

That is assuming he wins an appeal for a sixth year because he will be forced to sit out a year if he transfers to another FBS (no hardship, just a quitter). 5 years to play 4 right?

I can't really comment on the situation going on as being a family friend to the Gilbert's and former classmate in high school with him but, Garrett is NOT a quitter and never will be.

He will be playing on Sundays without a doubt and will put himself in the best situation to do so.

I will say however, I am extremely disappointed in Mack Brown and his ethics.

You don't have to comment on the situation...if you could just let us know if there is a greater than 0% chance he ends up at NT.

Tap the brakes there a little.

He has shown signs of greatness , but he's not NFL material

Ethics? You ever read "Meat On The Hoof" about the UT football program in the 60's? It was a NY Times best seller back in the day and authored by a Denton HS alum (the late Gary Shaw) who played at UT-Austin. It was an eye-opener for this college football fan.
