TU Football Embraces "No Excuses" Motto

The Golden Hurricane's 62-35 victory over Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl vaulted the team into the final AP rankings at No. 24. It was Tulsa's third 10-win season in four years.

All seemed well.

During the past 10 months, the program has been emotionally and physically battered.

Deaths to popular players, a felony criminal charge against an All-American candidate, a head coach's departure, a schedule with three top-five teams, the academic loss of a starting cornerback and injuries have tested the team's resiliency.

"If you would have listed all those things months ago, no one would have believed it would have happened," first-year coach Bill Blankenship said.
