Excellent and true article - and an explanation of the difficulty of getting noticed in such a vibrant market. I'd add a few more points, though:

- Between TCU, UNT and occasionally UTA, you've got great college basketball.

- Long suffering FC Dallas went to the finals last year, and is in line to do it again

- In addition to three bowls, you also have a huge set of big rivalry games played here - from the Red River Shootout to Arkansas-A&M to the Iron Skillet and of course most importantly, the Safeway Bowl (2014 baby!)

- DFW has hosted two MLS finals, the biggest under-18 football (soccer) competition in the nation and the World Cup

- The FCS Championship game

We need one of our art students or alums to create a "Silver Shopping Cart" trophy for the Safeway Bowl.

To be fair, it's been a while since I'd have TCU as a great basketball team. A few decent years here and there, but nothing I'd call great.

I feel bad for Jim Christian. Seems like a good coach who got thrown into a bad situation (no ties to Texas; completely a midwest/NE guy). Looking at this year's recruiting class, it's obvious he's been told, "Win this year, or you're out."

Yeah, his first year there looked promising, but seems to have folded a bit since then.

Was in line to do it again. Epic failure lately. dry.gif

Dallas Cup might be the biggest youth soccer competition in the world. And we did host the World Cup, but that was 94. We have hosted some games of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 09 & this last summer.
