He probably got burnt out. Tho if I were Boston I'd be begging him to stay. The man has delivered 2 rings to the organization and lifted the curse. That alone should have bought him a good 10 years.

Cards fan here for over 50 years. Grew up in the late 40's and 50's & 60's in Dallas with no major league team. the Cards were the closet and they had Stan The Man. I had a great time watching this all unfold...Rangers closed out a great regular season and the Cards ended their amazing run to make it in as the wild card. Sorry Atlanta, but you guys gave it away during the stretch run. The Cards played great ball down the stretch while the Braves folded under the pressure of the race.

Don't worry, there is always next year and for this year...well, looks like the Philly's to me on the NL side...so, I'll just hope the Cards can pull this off as well. One can always hope...my dream...the Rangers and the Cards in the World Series!
