I hate to say that I was right about the turnout, but it was kind of sad. We really should be upset that Houston didn't sell out and this one was 6-7k less than that one. Both games should have been sell outs. I know the reasons why, it just sucks.

I really hope this win tonight not only leads to more wins, but leads to more butts in seats.

I hate to agree, because I had a great time and the crowd was very good, but IMO we are going to have problems putting major butts in the seats on a regular SBC basis until we make Apogee a little more accessible to our marginal and physically/financially challenged fans. Not saying that Apogee is overpriced or ridiculously difficult to get to, but as crappy as it was, Fouts was a breeze to deal with, and some of our lazier fringe fans may be turned off a bit by the hassle after their first experience. I saw more than a few older types having to gradually labor their way back to their cars. Just trying to play devil's advocate and throw a little crap on what was a very special night. :D Continuing this winning streak and the pedestrian bridge/quality shuttle will hopefully cure all.

True. Winning will change everything.

My mom, 61, parks at Fouts, walks 10 steps to the shuttle, which drops her off at the gate. I don't know if it can get any easier than than. I do think they should run a shuttle from Fouts to Apogee and have it make stops on all four sides of Apogee for everyone. Less excuses for everyone.

i was very dispointed in the attendance. 1st time a big 10 team coems to denton and we barely break 20,000.granted, i.u. is near the bottom of the barrel, but then so are we.at this rate, with homes games against f.a.u.,u.l.m.,w.k., and m.t.s.u. we will be doing well to average 20,000.

Your only going to put butts in the seats if you win, its plain and simple. In the past 4 years weve won 1 home game.. Thats pathetic, once we start winning at home people will start coming.

We've won four home games in the last four years counting last night. It's terrible, but let's not make shit up to make it worse than it is.

Actually 1 home win the last 3 years, but it feels like 10, so I doubt he was intentionally making it up

If you go back to Dodge's first year you pick up a couple more

On FAMILY weekend they could have adjusted the price especially for kids. I know major div.1 teams charge 2x or 3x this much. But we aren't there yet, and in this economy we could adjust the prices a little. Instead of making 2 years old and younger get in free maybe make it 5 or 6 and younger. Then perhaps attendance will go up and continue to winning will help of course.

What scares me is that there appeared to be no more than 5 or 6 thousand students at this game. If that is to be the norm then we can forget about another conference. I enjoyed the enthusiasm of those that made it inside but that's not enough to advance this program.

Tailgaters staying outside seems to be an even bigger problem at Apogee than it was at Fouts. A couple of shelters can be seen between the east stands and the Wing Zone from the alumni side. I would estimate that thirty at that setting never set foot inside Apogee. I'm afraid that's the rule and not the exception.

I know that winning will help but the encouragement of ALL helps inspire this team to play better. You are part of the problem rather than the solution if you're not in the stadium.

Well, for the next game you can expect everyone that was there to be back, plus some that are pissed off that they missed the victory. If we beat FAU you can count on some more. It is going to take a little time to build. The fact that we have not won more than 4 games in a whole season since 2004, and especially haven't won home games has really worn out the casual fanbase, including many students. It is changing though.

We will at Homecoming for sure. Beat Tulsa and we will for FAU. One step at a time.

I would love to hear that place if we had a sell out and got everyone yelling on defense. My section yells the loudest when we are lining up on the offense.

The FAU game will have to compete with the Texas-OU game that day, it will be interesting to see how our attendance does. I hope we beat Tulsa it will really help make our attendance better.

I really think the "word" needs to go out that going to the game helps the team win from the loud factor, we really never had that edge at Fouts. I hope the AD does an all out push on the student body to get them this message.
