Interesting, but will anybody be able to watch

Link

I can see the print ads in San Antonio now:

WATCH YOUR ROADRUNNERS ON THE LONGHORN NETWORK!!!*

*Provided you can convince your television provider to carry the LHN. Good luck.

Good deal for them. They already have a better tv situation than we do...

That is actually a valid statement... here is the real question, would the Mean Green go for putting a couple of games on the Longhorn Network? It certainly could be done along with the Sun Belt Network - much like the BIG 10 Network shows their games on various regional sports stations. Personally, I don't really care if we are on a "Longhorn Network" - I wouldn't choose it over any of the ESPN channels... but I would choose it over the internet options currently available.

They are broadcasting HOME games. Wonder what that's going to do for the 55,000 attendance average?

I've always wondered why UNT doesnt show replays of the games on NTTV or something.

Granted we've lost a crapload of games and no one wants to relive those things. Were replays of the Dickey years on NTTV ever?

Not a big deal considering UTSA, UTA, UT-Austin, UTEP are all part of the same system, so would not be suprised to see all the UT System schools athletics being shown on the Longhorn network.

I could have sworn that back in the mid-80's and early 90's replays of the games were available on the campus tv station...

I remember watching one against Eastern Washington at my apartment...

Or, UTSA has as little nationwide appeal as UT as far as Time Warner is concerned. Not enough to charge every subscriber more for their services, anyway.

If they offered it with their espn sports pkg it wouldn't hurt subscriptions, however seeing as how they would need more bandwith they would almost certainly have to up the price of the sports pkg. To be honest if they did, I would never notice. As an aside I have TWC and love the fact I can get espn on my phone. You know, for those emergency situations, like getting whisked away on a shopping trip.
