A truly sad day for all fans of FC Dallas and soccer in general as former lifetime player for Dallas Burn/FC Dallas and current Play-by-play announcer for FC Dallas games, Bobby Rhine, has passed away. Bobby died on Monday evening at the age of 35 of an apparent heart attack while on vacation with his family. Thoughts and prayers to his friends, family, and fans.

I saw this a little bit earlier and was absolutely shocked, mostly because he was only 35 years old. He always seemed like a class act as a player, and when he worked in the FCD front office. FCD has an off week, so he was on vacation with his family in Florida. This is just really sad.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bobby a few times and he was a world class guy. So down to earth, so humble, probably never had an ill thing to say about anyone. So tragic that he leaves behind his two kids at such a young age. Some of my friends were really close to his family and they're really shook up right now. Just tragic.

There's an impromptu memorial at Pizza Hut Park tonight at 7pm for anyone interested. It'll be next to his picture on the southwest corner of the stadium.

R.I.P. Bobby: a good soccer player and a wonderful man.

      Where exactly is it a bad take? Are we not a mirrored program in comparison to when Littrell oversaw it? Littrell at least got us to multitude of conf champ games? Where is the improvement or regression? It's one and the same, except we are slightly less competitive. Is it not one of the sole jobs of the athletic director to fundraise his tail off and implement those funds into athletics? Where are the numbers that dictate improvement in funding? Where are the new facilities? What is the direction... Look, if it's a bad take please point to where I am misleading myself and I will reexamine...

      We picked the wrong quarterback

      If you're a G5 school and you have a high quality quarterback who has the potential to hit the portal and you believe you'll go bowling you have to start getting your back up reps during the season. And please don't come back with some BS about you don't want to impact your starting quarterbacks statistics or make him feel unappreciated by putting a backup in. Not blaming the kids who hit the portal for taking care of themselves but coaches need to start focusing their efforts on their program. I like one story they mentioned during the bowl game when they talked to Texas state's coach and he commented that his number one motivation was a picture of his family on his desk and that he was going to take care of them and that's why he could make the choices he does at times. So again for all those who talk about players having the right to do what's best for them and their families more coaches need to start protecting what is good for them and their families and make changes when needed.
