I admit I don't know much about NCAA rules, but $140 in meals and entertainment? I was expecting cars, hookers, cocaine, cash with pictures of Benjamin Franklin on it. I recall stories of Eric Dickerson driving a maroon Corvette gold Trans Am? From A&M? around the SMU campus. Somehow a few meals just doesn't seem to compare.

Surely this cannot be the end of it? That one game suspension for the QB will really show 'em! Seriously, this can't be the end of the NCAA investigation, right? I assume this is just the first shot across the bow and needed to be handled before the first game, but a more rigorous investigation is till underway, right>

From everything I have read it appears that you are correct. Much like the investigation of Ohio State last season the NCAA is making an immediate decision in regards to future eligibility of the student athletes, but is undertaking a more in depth investigation of the school.

I know this is just the first step in the investigation, but the message it sends (most important player gets the mildest suspension) is that the NCAA will go out of it's way to ensure the least amount of damage to Miami's program.
