Moving to AA was not the problem. A lack of commitment to winning in AA was the problem. I have no interest whether NT has a ‘chance’ to play for a national championship. Nor any interest in whether the Texas Techs, TCUs etc of the world look up to or down on us. Nor whether there is tv money or the ability to watch the games on tv. Nor whether we get a share of the crumb that the ‘P4’ leave. I want a team that consistently wins more games than it loses, and especially so for the home games. I also very much do not want this team to play - not ever - against programs that have a much bigger budget and commitment to winning at whatever level. We can’t wait around for all this to keep shaking out; it is an endless slow death. I’ve had enough anyway but the changes in the industry require drastic and immediate action. The leadership of the university should figure out how to make that happen by appealing very directly in a funding campaign to the alumni and students and community, to support it. That would require a convincing plan about how to use the resources. Those plans, commitment and appeals are what we have never had from this university. North Carolina of all places is spending $10 million a year for an NFL coach. We cannot be part of the same league as this anymore.- 1

Elon Musk, by no actual measurable metric, has shown he can run a business (outside of stripping one down and exploiting it to grow his own personal wealth) "cut excess" - ya...let's create a new agency and hire co-chairs to show just how efficient things can be done.
