You left out the indoor Bass fishing practice facility. Dallas Baptist just announced the start of a Bass fishing program last week, and i think we deserve one too.

I guess ours isn't official, but we already have one in some capacity--and they've done pretty well.

Which is exactly why we would need the indoor stocked tank. They say, "you fish how you practice", and if you can't set the hook, you can't catch a fish.

Right on Kram. The only concern I would have with the indoor practice facility is that I (hate to say it) would rather the football team get used to (at least in fall practice) the conditions outside when they suit up. The one thing we have strongly in our corner is that these kids are probably at least slightly acclimated with the weather right now and if the Houston gameday comes around an it's 98 degrees...it will be like any other day for our team.

1. Upgrades to Super Pit - Johnny's team deserves it.

2. Upgrades of Soccer and Softball complex - we are one of the leading Title IX schools in the country

3. Track facility - fouts is already prime for a parking lot, maybe a garage with the walkway over the interstate connected to it.

4. Baseball - we need a program first before we build one.

5. Golf Course - I do not know if this will ever happen, but I keep hoping.

I'm curious. What kind of upgrades for the super pit do people want? With its 10,000 seats, certainly not capacity growth. I would guess relocating the press section from that premium real estate covering all of center court on the student side and luxury suites?

1. Indoor practice facility. (with heat like this summer and rain last year, I think it's a no brainer. Also, this would complete our "big boy" transformation.)

2. Baseball (it would improve our chances of upgrading in conferences, if given the chance and it's my favorite sport :D )

3. Upgrades to The Pit. (jj deserves it and it would keep momentum for the ball team.)

4. Upgrades to the soccer facility. (being our most consistent/successful team, they deserve it)

5. Golf course (because the team isn't horrible and I would like another reason to get out to Denton)

And although it's not a facility, I would like to throw some money into getting those pads that can cool of the players by hooking them up to some machine that runs cool water or something.

Yes to all of those, but more importantly a video board. It is ridiculous that the pit doesnt have one. There also needs to be some concession/bathroom upgrades, and general upgrades in the building. Also they could redo the tunnels and the way the floor is configured.

1. Baseball

2. Super pit

3. Track

4. Indoor Practice Facility

5. Golf

How much could a new track facility cost? That should be done in two years. Baseball and Super pit(jumbotron at least) needs to be done in 5. Golf could also be an interesting avenue, anyone know anything about how college courses work?

1. Baseball Stadium, make it look similar to Apogee Stadium

2. Some sort of practice golf course that would be open to the public (selfish wish)

3. Indoor practice stadium for our football team.

4. Update soccer and softball stadium to have the same appearance of Apogee Stadium and baseball stadium

5. Bulldoze Fouts.

I really hope when new stadiums are build that have a similar design of Apogee to keep a nice uniform look.

I am not sure in what order I would put it, but UNT needs to add a center court for tennis. When the Goldfields made the donation for the complex, our promise was to build the center court. We should keep our promises.

I don't know that it was the Goldfields that made that donation. I think it was a Real Estate Tycoon in California.

How about this:

1. Indoor practice facility

2. Multiple walkways across 35

3. Parking Garage South of 35 by the Stadjum(of course to handle all the huge crowds post stadjum expansion)

4. Expand Football Stadjum

5. Baseball Park

6. Track and Field Facility

Posted

1 upgrade superpit

2 expand football stadium as soon as it apprears needed...takes priority

3 Doze fouts asap

4 Tennis Center court

5 Track and Field facility/upgrades after fouts dozed

6 outdoor swimming facility

side note:

lets find someone to build a hotel at the athletic village...and restuarant and clubs by stadium...increase population and retail density for the stadium area as well.

There are always endless possibilities to spend money particularly in college sports were there is very little regard for sound economical decisions. I think a big part of the decision would be what projects NT can get the most donations to build the facility. Some of the suggestions particularly for non-revenue sports are IMO a little bit crazy. Outdoor swimming facility, indoor tennis courts in the words of McCarney, "Are you kidding me". An outdoor swimming pool might make some sense if it could be used by the entire student body . Heavy investment in tennis, a sport that NT does not have one US player does not move me. If they even think about building the promised center court and indoor facilities then it would only make sense to bring back men's tennis. RV also mentioned needing a basketball practice facility, I don't understand this at all. What is the old Pit used for?

As far as my priorities for venues, assuming no big donations to fund them; I would go with:

Indoor practice facility for multi sports, particuarly football; It is strange how that a couple of decades this was unheard of and now it is a must have.

New track facility, Fouts is fine but I would think for the overall growth of the school that Fouts needs to be demolished. A cost that would be probably a lot greater than construction of a new track facility.

Update of Super Pit behind football; basketball is the sport to be emphasized. The SP is a great facility as it is but it could better lighting, central video boards, outside ticket office, and to help finance they could always put in the in vogue suites and eliminate a couple of thousands almost never used seats.

Baseball stadium, a huge cost for a secondary sport but it is the most popular sport outside of football and basketball.
