Vito has a link to a little post-game McCarney interview...Good stuff.

With all the secrecy of practice, a comment he made got me a little worried. He made mention that there were a couple "nicks" that they would know more about in the next couple of days.

This could be absolutely nothing, as we all hope, but it jsut concerened me a little bit that they would "know more" about a couple of nicks in a couple of days. Seems to me that nicks would come and go and wouldn't really require any kind of monitoring...I am a worrier though. There are a few people, and we all know who they are, that we can ill-afford to lose.

We all know what happened last year in terms of injuries, and that still scares the living sh!t out of me for the upcoming season. I really want to see what this staff and this group of players can do with a full roster.

Great to hear Coach Mac talk about the physicality of the defense, how they are improving and making plays.

I believe if we are patient with this defense, by the time the majority of conference games roll around, this could be a very good unit. Just look at the statistical improvements Bowen made at WKY in one year. No reason he can't do that here. Cantly, Akpunku, Orr, Hill, Ford...those are talented guys who could play at a lot of places.

Better depth up front, better secondary depth, better coaching position by position...it logically speaks for improvement.

...and we're going to need it. My gosh! Houston, Alabama, Tulsa all in the same slate of non-conference? They'll get better in a hurry!
