Wow, went to the Kickoff Cookout tonight and it's like a dream world. I couldn't believe how awesome that place is. RV is the man!

I've attended all of these and I swear this just had a different feel. It's like everybody was walking around with their chests out and their chins a little higher, And I mean that in the good way like so proud of their team and school that has such an awesome home. It's like you always hoped it could be and now that you know it's real, you believe anything is possible.

This was by far the best attended. I would guess 4,000.

Coach spoke and I don't know it sounds corny but in the past when the coaches did their pep talk the crowd would kind of cheer but it was always sort of muted and like, well maybe we will. This time the cheers were, I don't know different. We believe now. It really is happening.

The Eagle Wing is genius. Whoever came up with that design is awesome. All through the evening people were making the trek up to those corners. I did it as well, and it's a hike. 47 rows. But an awesome view.

On the way back to the lot we saw some folks with a tailgate tent. We went over and talked to them an gave the credit for first ever tailgate at the new stadium. They had arrived as students in 1971 so 40 years later they were celebrating.

It will take some time before the rest of the world finds out but we are rising up. Go Mean Green!

P.S. RV is the man! And so are the students and especially UNTFlyer for getting the athletic fee passed. I raise my glass to you sir.

A few things I forgot to mention while I was giddy for those that couldn't make it.

The pitch of the seats is really nice. As an example, I'm only 5' 9" and there was a guy directly in the seat in front of me who was 6'2". And I had no obstruction of my view to the field. None. So much better than most stadiums.

Also, the seats are much further away from the row in front so you can get through without bumping into everyone.

The new turf is spongy. Really feels nice.

The spot where the new Eagle statue is going donated by the Geezles is really close to the back of the end zone. Less than 15 yards. I expect there will be a point where some opposing player scores and runs up to it and does something negative towards it and a fight breaks out.

Tons of bathrooms.

Underneath the stands is really wide and allows for a breeze to blow through. it actually wasn't really that hot because of the breeze and it's shaded.

At 5 pm pretty much the entire home side seats are already in shade.

i loved the distance between the seats. i'm 6'6 and was good and comfortable on my row! the distance between the lower and upper bowl was greater than i expected. the high walls make it seem like they are really far away. hopefully, that feeling changes when the stadium is full and going crazy!

Absolutely! IMHO, too much credit going to RV, and not enough credit going to Flyer and his fellow SGA officers.

I swear somewhere it has to be written down that it IS the AD's job to improve things. Seems like some have forgotten it is his job to do so and continue to do so.

I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I'm pretty sure folks are congratulating RV on a job well done, not for doing a job that isn't his to do.

Exactly, I would like to thank UNTFlyer and the students for getting the fee passed, but I think RV, Hank and the AD staff deserves a huge pat on the back for their work in leading this project and working with HKS and Manhattan for designing an awesome stadium.
