Wimberley RB Dennis Smith: Despite being one of the area’s first commits from the Class of 2012, Smith is back on the market after a tumultuous junior year that included a foot injury, a suspension and the loss of his Texas A&M scholarship. But when he is on the field, Smith is a freakish talent as he was the All-Central Texas Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and he scored 19 touchdowns in the first five games of Wimberley’s 2010 season. Colorado, Iowa State, Michigan, North Texas, SMU, Texas State and UTSA have reportedly offered scholarships to the six-foot, 220-pound Smith, who also played in the secondary during Wimberley’s appearance at last week’s state passing tournament.
