For you guys and gals out of the area, the game will be broadcast LIVE on the web:

5-6 other reasons you might want to tune in:

Devonte Abron, Seagoville HS (Arkansas Razorbacks)

Listed as 6-8 on your program but is not taller than 6-6. Very good HS player and would have been an impact guy for the Mean Green. Came down to UNT and Arkansas. Felt the overall college experience (football) was better at the SEC school. Will be tough for the 6-6 lefty to hang 4 years in the SEC. A very good transfer candidate in 1-2 years.

Jordan Green, Flower Mound HS (Texas A&M)

Very good friends with Jordan Williams. Considered joining Jordan after he committed. Would have been the immediate replacement for Tristan Thompson from day one. Expected to contribute at A&M but not as a star. Father is adamant that he stay an Aggie. The 2nd most likely kid to transfer in 2 years if PT doesn't come early. Stated that he committed to the university and not the coach.

Curtis "Trey" Davis, Woodrow Wilson HS (George Washington/UMass/Vermont Academy Prep School (Saxtons River, VT)

Davis originally signed with George Washington in April but left after the firing of Coach Karl Hobbs. Davis was granted an unconditional release and then signed with UMass. Despite never attending GW, the A-10 committee ruled that Davis had to sit out; after transferring to another school in the same conference. The rule is an A-10 rule and not an NCAA rule, which states a player, if granted a release following the firing of a coach, can sign anywhere. Rather than sitting, Davis and his family decided to utilize the prep school route, making him a reclassified 2012 player. UNT offered early

Jalen Jones, Dallas Kimball (SMU)

HS teammate of Jordan Williams. Joined a talented SMU class. Best suited to play the four but may have to develop his game to play small forward at the college level. A better player than Canon Cunningham at the current time but has less upside. Was promised big things to attend SMU. (Becoming a star) Maybe a transfer candidate in 2 years.

Hondo Webb. Melissa HS

Don't think he has signed with anyone but was getting looks from other Sunbelt school and DII's. Excellent student who may rely on an academic ship. Lead Melissa to the #1 (2A) State Ranking (undefeated) prior to the playoffs. First lost was to Trey Davis' Woodrow Wilson team in a HS warm-up game by 20-30. Anyway, a very good "Walk On" candidate. I like this guy but he did not compete against the best competition. I think Melissa is in the district with Howe.

Thanks, Cooley. Just looking at the rosters... It looks like the North team is heavily loaded. Demps is the only name I recognize as an upper tier state recruit from the South squad.

Walker is a good prospect who signed with UTA ,but yeah the North should cruise in this one.

DaJuan Cooper just recently signed with ACU. What sucks for him is that he had DI offers , but went with Grant McCasland. McCasland only lasted a few months on the job as he just recently accepted the job as an assistant for Baylor

Hondo signed with Collin County College. FWIW, Melissa lost to Woodrow Wilson by 15, Hondo scored 9 points.

Woodrow was up by at least 20 at the half. Trey had about 26 points at the half. Woodrow extended the lead to more than 30 before they literally stopped trying to score. (This was with the remaining bench players early in the 4th) Webb didn't have a great game but you could see his abilities.

Just some additional info on tonight's THSCA All-Star game...Forrest Robinson will be fun to watch, talked to him in FW yesterday and he is loving UNT after having been here about a month. He is 6-10 but expect this guy to be more of a wing than a low post threat, loves to shoot the three and even if he ends up putting on some weight, he does not want to lose his outside touch, he will be in the 3-point contest at half-time and I was told he made 10 of 12 shooting three's at practice the other day.

Trey Davis is not on the final roster for the game, still not sure about Jalen Jones either, but Jordan Green will be fun to watch as will Austin Chatman, the PG from The Colony who is going to Creighton. Anthony Walker of the South squad is going JUCO to South Plains, not UTA...although he still wants to go to UTA eventually. North looks loaded compared to South but should be fun game.

ps...UNT alum Doug Anderson is doing the game on Fox Sports Southwest with Jim Haller, yet another reason to watch! :)

Doogie Anderson is NT Greatness. He and Mark Followill are setting the bar for recent NT grads. He and Ld Mclain do great job on TXA football.
