SMU, the quintessentially legendary harbinger of college athletics nouveau riche, has proven once again the painful truth of the old axiom, "Money Talks". The realization that humans care so little for attributes such as depth of qualitative character yet care so much for "Slam bang thank you ma'am" sports is so tellingly embarrassing. I reckon it's where we are and that is that...proof being that we're even spending time away from family or whatever discussing it on this board.
Essentially, this is the SL philosophy all over again. I mean, we are who we are and this is probably all the administrators are looking for…being just good enough to qualify for a low-tier bowl game. And, despite next year’s schedule, I just don’t have the confidence in an EM led club to mark wins down on stone. He looks lost, out coached and well in above his head. Everyone seems to have adjusted to the air raid…except for EM.
Yes. UNT can be an upper tier G5 program. Very few G5's have the combination of location, resources, etc.
From all indications, however, there is not an institutional or administrative desire to win at a high level. Until that happens it'll be Frisco Bowl levels of success.
