Why I'd rather beat Indiana than Houston

Recommended Posts

Many of you would like for us to beat Houston, and so would I. They deserve whatever bad comes their way on the football field because they are horribly wrong for the country with unemployment being as high as it is and jobs being sent overseas because of the high cost of union labor, corporate greed and an influx of illegal Mexican immigrants from all over Central and South America.

But, what I really would like to see is a victory of Indiana. After all, it's Indiana who cashes in every year on their poor performances just because they're in the Big Ten, where people think your name has to be Barak Obama or Mitt Romney to be somebody.

Since the illegal BCS was formed, we've been to four bowl games and Indiana has only been to one. Yet, they've made tens of millions more dollars than we have in the system. It's not right.

Therefore, in addition to giving the new nachos another chance, on Saturday, September 24, 2011, you should be at Canales Stadium in Denton wailing until you heave lung biscuits and your throat feels like dry, white toast against the Indiana Hoosiers. They represent all that is wrong with college football with unemployment being as high as it is and jobs being sent overseas because of the high cost of union labor, corporate greed, and an influx of illegal Mexican immigrants from all over Central and South America.

First of all, I agree with NorthTexas95. I'd like to beat them both. And I think it's possible. But since we live in Texas and Houston is in Texas, and both the Dallas Morning News and Houston Chronicle are in Texas, I'd rather beat Houston. Again, given that I have the power to choose, and I do, I say we just beat 'em both. That way there's no problem.

GO MEAN GREEN

BEAT HOUSTON

BEAT INDIANA

Actually I like our chances in both. While normally the Houston game would be a pretty sure loss, that game will be like none other in the history of North Texas football home games. The crowd and team will be pumped like never before. It will be a lot for Houston to overcome, especially early in the season when teams don't quite have it figured out. That early a lot of it comes down to effort.

Some of that reasoning applies to the Indiana game as well, but Indiana isn't as good so while the euphoria won't be as great the differences in teams isn't either.

Really, how well the team does in these two games really is up to us. We can push them to victory. That has never been the case at a home game before.

I'd REALLY like to beat Indiana. Not because they represent all that is wrong with college football but because my mom went there and my brother goes there now. I've been talking a lot of crap and really hope it doesn't explode in my face!

And since I'll probably forward this thread to my brother, this is for him :ass:

Go Mean Green! BEAT IU! :thumbsu:

At this point, I rather beat Houston because it will mean more to the program as they are higher rated and a Texas team. Can't really get too upset at Indiana because they are a Big Ten willing to play in Denton. Obviously they scheduled it for a relatively easy road win, but it should be a fun game.

Beat Houston just to shut them up. And you all do realize they have two players on the U of H team that received medical redshirts (or whatever they're called) and are into their 6th year. And how many of these "medical" or hardship waivers has UNT received?

I say, "BEAT THE HELL OUTTA HOUSTON". Ruin their QB's chances at the Heisman. :growl:

Beating aa crappy team from the Big 10 gives you more pub than beating a good CUSA team. Not fair, but true.

Respectfully disagree. I think people have forgotten how much publicity Keenam was getting before he sat out last year.

This Houston team will get more love than Indiana this year, and beating them would do us much more good than a W over Indiana. IMHO...

BTW, I still am with Fake's sentiment here: I hate how much money the AQ cellar dwellers get just sitting on their collective behinds. Stick it to'em, every chance you get!

In Indiana its not just football but they are or atleast been considered a basketball powerhouse. And when it comes to fan apathy, academics, research, school history etc...this is why Indiana is where they are vs Houston and most other mid majors. I don't care who they beat but hopefully they beat both Houston and Indiana...UNT needs all the wins they can get because its been a disaster the last several years.

This thread is dumb. I mean, I get it....but really?? You'd rather open the stadium with a loss?? You only get one chance at the first game ever in a brand new stadium.

I'd RATHER win the opener than lose it. Granted, I think we get drubbed by Houston, but that's another story/thread entirely.

If our defense turns out to be surprisingly good (to most), I don't see us getting drubbed by Houston. If we can stay healthy, I'm thinking more and more that our back seven are going to be very special this year. I'm just hoping that our front four can do the job.
