Boy the internationals have really caught up with us. Not saying it is 100%, but I never thought I'd live to read that the USA was out-physical'd.

The other thing is the international teams have typically played with each other since they were young, progressing from Under 17 team, to Under 18 team, etc as they get older. For the most part we don't follow the same model here as they place a higher emphasis on representing their country.

It's also the first organized game the USA team has played together... And Lithuania's national teams play in a lot more organized tournaments through FIBA and Eurobasket, to say nothing about how much easier it is to practice your all-star team together when the country is smaller than the states of Indiana or Maine.

Lithuania U-19 is gonna get cracked, though. Tony Mitchell is going to destroy them like the Swedes did in the Northern Wars of the early 17th century.

And once we've beaten the U-19 team in that exhibition, we'll all go in and revisionist our way into a victory against the U-20 team earlier today.

Couple all that with the fact that Euro teenagers are more likely to get thrown into professional basketball than their US counterparts. We keep kids in HS and then send them to college for at least a yr. A top prospect 16 yr old Euro kid is going to play pro ball, get a couple years of solid, physical development playing against guys nearly a decade older on average. Huge advantage.

Wow.....you went there. Congrats on not only being the first person to give an analogy on...but even to reference the "Great Northern Wars" :goodjob:
