The 6-9 forward did not play last season after failing to meet NCAA entrance requirements for scholarship athletes.

While this is a true statement, I wish it would have been worded in a way that would not have given people the wrong impression.

Mitchell will get a chance to prepare for the beginning of his career at UNT over the next few weeks while also elevating the program’s profile.

“When Tony enrolled, it cast a whole new light on the program,” Jones said. “The exposure he will get will help us moving forward. It gives us credibility that you can get to where players want to go from North Texas.”

That's the thing--this is not only big for Tony, it is huge for UNT. We are blessed to have him.
