How in the world is that thing worth 1,200 dollars?

Especially with the chip and minor wear?

It's considered a very rare bobblehead. There was one that sold on eBay last week for $290, I was watching the auction but a little too steep for me.

They are one of the rarest bobble heads ever, second only to a Roberto Clemente one that was produced. I'm glad I only gave $7 for mine in a junk store off the square in Denton back in '87. My wife can't stand that it's value is so high and that I keep it diplayed in the china cabinet.

Does something like that ever peak in value? I'm not trying to be mean, and I think it's cool that it's THAT high value, but I doubt anyone in my generation would want one for more than $5.
