The Washington Examiner

What did Attorney General Eric Holder know and when did he know it concerning the underlying concept, operational protocols and legal status of the Operation Fast and Furious program in the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms bureau?

Those questions gained special relevance Wednesday when four ATF agents testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and squarely contradicted a Feb. 4, 2011, claim by a department spokesman that DOJ did not approve of the program that sanctioned the illegal sale here in America by legitimate gun dealers of assault weapons to representatives of Mexican drug cartels.

1. One may look at this as another Contra scandal when Marine Col. North fell on the sword for Pres. Reagan. Personally, I believed the United States had every right to supply arms to the Contras to defeat the communist Sandanistas who were, as I recall, do what communists do best (eliminate the religious base, intellectuals, teachers and basically set up draconian regieme based on all communist freedoms and not others.) Examples: Russia in 1917 - 1938 when an estimated 30-35 Million Russians and Ukranians died because of Stalin. Literature will verify this. Mexico in the 1920's when thousands of Catholics..ect died. Spain in the 1930's when the Communists tried to take over Spain...about a million died at the hands of the Communists. Laos, Cambodia & Viet Nam. George Orwell fought with the communists and stated later that was one awful mistake he wished he could have back. Read about it in his book, "Hommage to Catelonia." Somewhat of a paradox to "1984." I would not think that too many major Mexican drug cartel members just drive across the border into the U.S. and walk into some local gun shop and purchase all sorts of weapons/ammo at one time. Logic hints at that. Maybe a few but not bunches. Personally, the Mexican cartels have enough money to purchase major cashes of weapons/ammo etc...and not from any local dealer in the United States. That would leave the Central - South American - Cuban connections. Just a thought.

A really, really stupid program.

--Absolutely..... so was the Iran-contra deal...... apparently we actually transported drugs in that one on Military planes.... I wasn't aware of that part for a long time. Even worse on that one.. we supposedly had a war on drugs going on. We were playing on both sides.
