That's a big turnout for UNT and one that, I think, shows the growing interest in the UNT program. Great job Coach mac and company...now, let's hope some commits come to UNT soon due to all the hard work Mac and his staff are getting in these days...not to mention that great new stadium.

Were they in the new stadium working out????? Hope so.

I was hoping Feldt transferring in from Arkansas would influence a few quality prospects to commit after attending the camp over the weekend. It's not too late..., and there are more camps to come. We could still land some guys in the near future.

I don't recall camps pulling in much of a haul as far as commits go. A one-day camp would be a gold mine if it ever pulled in 5+. 1 - 2 would be okay, and none at all should not be a killjoy.

I could be wrong, but my impression has been for new staffs, it's really an avenue for them to get their names out there and gauge interest.

If anything, we're only 2 days removed from the thing. Give the kids a chance to get home and think about it.

I don't see early commits as helping us right now because frankly it is too early. Many of the best players are still being bcstrung along and slow played etc.... the purpose of this camp -at this stage in the Mac recovery plan - is to evaluate and make a positive impression on prospects and their families. Mac and co. are trying to change what has been a negative perception about North Texas which has been perpetuated by our competitors who know that we sit square in the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country!

The key for both attracting players and even fans, donors, professors etc is getting them on campus, in person to see first hand what we have to offer. As a 1990 grad I can attest to the fact that the progress in facilities is remarkable with the new stadium being the crown jewel. North Texas offers solid academics with more degree choices than many of our peers. Without a doubt we have the most experienced and talented coaching staff seen here in the modern era and I am so pleased to have coaches who know how the recruiting rules of engagement are played! This second class is going to be special! GMG!

You make a strong argument, and I think you are right, this class is going to be special.
