I will personally cleanout my savings accounts to ensure that we get the extra 145 Sq. Ft. needed to beat out SMUT's board. Who is with me on this? I would die laughing if we had purposely built a board with 1,441 Sq. Ft. of space.

By the dimensions it looks like our screen will be pretty close to doing 16:9 natively. SMU's dimensions are little odd, but appear to be closer to 4:3. I guess what I'm saying is that our screen will show the same dimensions as a TV broadcast, where SMU's would either have to be letterboxed or cropped if they wanted to do that.

Did some good reading on Video Boards this summer. Check out this book:

Video Board Instruction Manual.... by Daktronics (8/10 stars) (Includes sizes and setup guidelines for Video Boards)

Kinda worried about you.

And who cares about SMU. They aren't even in our conference.

Sure, the big video board technology is great... Until a bird crashes into it and dies.

You rectify that problem by blowing the top off the thing and extracting its coal -- but only at a distance of greater than 1/4 mile from the stadium.

One thing not mentioned about the size is how close the scoreboard is to the stands. Some of those others may be larger but are farther away from the people. It will look bigger because you are closer to it. At least that's what I tell my wife. Wait, What?
