They'll get hit hard just like Auburn ... oh, wait. Nevermind.

Read this on another site, and I agree:

"The biggest thing they found was that Ohio State's insistence that this was a small issue is simply untrue and that there has been a systematic breakdown of supervision for a decade, as it relates to this tattoo/party place of interest.

It's one sweep up after another and the fact that the number of players involved is roughly five times more than first reported is going to be a problem."

tOSU is going to get hammered by the NCAA. There will never be another death penalty, but the Buckeyes are going to get hit hard. Just watch.

I got a 10 spot that says you are wrong.

I think they will get at least as hard, but more likely harder then USC. The NCAA occasionally hits a big boy school pretty hard and I think they will do it this time.

I'm in, baby!!!!

Uh, maybe we should determine the definition of "hammered?"

Here's what USC received in football (not counting Bush-specific stuff):

• A postseason ban in football following the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

• A loss of 30 total football scholarships over the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons.

• Four years of probation.

I predict tOSU will get hit with at least 3 years/no bowl, and at least 30 schollies over 3 years. Probably more. They will probably also get at least 4 years probation. Anything =/> the above constitute a "hammering?"

See, but I think the OSU situation is way worse than USC. How bout we say:

- a postseason ban in football following the 2010, 2011, and 2012 seasons.

- a loss of 40 ships over the next four years

- five years probation.

I really think it should be worse than this.

Let's say 3 year bowl ban. 40 ships, and 4 years. Don't think they'll do 5.

Not to interrupt your friendly wager....but I have a question.

How does the 30 scholarships in 3 years penalty actually work? Does this just mean that the team can only have 75 players on scholarship (instead of 85--if that's the number?) each of those 3 years? Or is it cumulative....? Such that they'd be down to 55 scholarship players by the 3rd year?

If it's just 10 players under the max, per year, that seems WAY too soft a penalty when you consider that the penalties that the NCAA hands out for low APR scores routinely hit 5 scholarships/year for the "little sisters of the poor".

Also, probation is a BS penalty to hand out. What does that even accomplish?

Your on.

I have a feeling that neither of us will have to pay this bet until after bowl season this year.

Oh, and I obviously meant bowl bans after the 2011, 2012, and 2013 seasons. I'm sure you knew what I meant, but I just feel the need to clarify the fine print.

And, if punishment doesn't come until after the 2011 bowl season, we just bump the 3 year ban back a year.
