Waters said North Texas, Arkansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe are “not interested” in joining the league, which is searching to bolster its ranks even further after the recent additions of UTSA, Texas State and Denver (non-football).

“All four have called and said, ‘Just to let you know, they’ve called, but we’re not interested,’” he said. “I’m not worried about it. We’ve kind of moved on. There are other issues to worry about.”

This is amusing for several reasons.

One, UL-M declining an informal offer to join La. Tech and the WAC.

Two, how funny it would be to see fans of la tech if ul-m joined them in the wac.

I also heard no SEC team will be joining the WAC.

Is it really expansion talk, when you list schools that won't join your conference.

How high and mighty can LaTech be feeling right now about being "too good for any conference with ULM" when ULM just said, "Thanks, but no thanks" to joining the WAC?

Perhaps it was an attempted bait and switch. La Tech votes in ULM and escapes out the backdoor to the SBC. Remember when TCU was in CUSA? SMU gets in and suddenly TCU leaves for the MWC.
