:thumbsu: Just wanted to make certain that everyone saw this announcement that came out a week or so ago about the 2011 MEAN GREEN CLUB COACHES CARAVAN. There will be 5 stops on the Caravan which will give Mean Green Club members an opportunity to hear from Mean Green Coaches including McCarney, Lama, Mitchell, Aston, Stracke, Murczek and Jones. There will be free food, beverages and fun for all.

Dates and places are as follows: (times for each are 6PM - 8pm)

TUESDAY, MAY 10th - DENTON - Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites (1434 Centre Place Dr.)

THURSDAY, MAY 12th - DALLAS - Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre (5410 LBJ Freeway)

TUESDAY - MAY 17th - PLANO - Park Place Lexus (1025 Preston Rd)

WEDNESDAY - MAY 18th - FT. WORTH - Stockyards Hotel (109 E. Exchange Ave.)

THURSDAY - MAY 19th - GRAND PRAIRIE - Uptown Theater (120 E. main St.)

The event is free to all Mean Green Club members and guests, but registration is very much encouraged by emailing Jessica.Hulsebosch@unt.edu For additional info you can call 940-369-7284.

This will be a great opportunity to meet our new women's basketball coach (Karen Aston) and to talk with many other UNT coaches...not to mention getting to mix and mingle with other members of the great Mean Green Nation.

I am attending the Dallas event with a number of family and friends. I encourage everyone to try and make the events that are the most convenient for you to attend. Heck go to every single one of them if you can! We definately want to make a good showing and show them some Mean Green Love! If you live in Dallas please consider attending the Dallas event with me and comment on here so I can be on the lookout for you! GMG!

Wish I was in the area to attend one of these. I would recommend inviting friends. Time to grow the Mean Green Nation.

I live in Grand Prairie! I will attend the Grand Prairie event.

I attended the event at the Ruth Jackson Center in Grand Prairie

a few years back. I would guess about 150 fans came in. Great event!

Thanks to Parks and Rec Rick for developing the events in Grand Priarie!

I was really impressed with the Coaches Caravan in Denton tonight. Everyone should go to one if you are able. My take aways:

1. It was great to see some current and former players there (Lance Dunbar, Royce Hill, & Johnny Quinn).

2. I finally heard Coach Mac repeat a joke (Coach: How many really good college coaches are there? Wife: One less than you think.)

3. The golf coach did a great job considering he had to follow Coach Mac.

4. Good to see Scrappy, some of the cheer leaders, and some of the dance team there.

5. Johnny Jones is much more funny and entertaining to hear speak than I was expecting. I suppose I've only really heard him speak on the Mean Green Insider.

6. I thought the Mean Green Club did a top notch job with setting things up and providing door prizes.

7. In light of the fact I knew going in there would not be complimentary alcoholic drinks, it was nice that they had a cash bar.

I had a great time last night. It's always great to hear form Coach Mac. He said that he'd bought a house in Denton. I was glad to hear that. He's going about 150 MPH all the time. I brought someone with me that was not a Mean Green supporter. In fact, something of a "boo-bird." I don't know if we converted them or not last night, but I know they were impressed with the turnout and the energy in the room.

I was disapointed to not hear from Coach Aston. I thought she would have been there as well as more coaches.

Find a time and attend a Coach's Caravan when it comes to a venue near you. Well worth the time.

My understanding is that Coach Mac and Jones will be a staple at these, but they'll be swapping out the other coaches at each stop. Come to some more and you may be able to hear from Aston.

GMG!
