My hope is that the Mean Green will make its statement on the field this season. Based on UNT's record of recent past, where else would the "talking heads" list UNT? The Mean Green will take care of this on the field.

My assumption was that this countdown thread was to count down the number of days until football starts, NOT a ranking thread. I didn't do the math, but sounded about right. Was I off base?

You base things solely on the performance of the past four years, and I can see the ranking, but whoever put this list together didn't see the team in the last 5 games of the season last year and apparently doesn't understand that the current coaching staff has actually seen a legit college game or two. I wouldn't necessarily be looking for a bowl bid this year, but 4th worst in the country seems overly pessimistic as in 1-11ish. Western Kentucky and one other Sun belt team alone should be enough to best that prognosis.
