Of the 15 offers he already has, UNT and Air Force are the only non-AQ schools. I like that we are going after these guys.

Rivals

I just love the fact that all of the other fans are looking on his profile and then they see North Texas's name on the list (and with medium interest). Keep going after these guys and we will get one. If we could recruit football players like we are with basketball players then we could really right this ship quickly.

Trey Keenan, the former standout at Argyle, plans to transfer out of Texas Tech because of lack of playing time. He's already a redshirt sophomore so its likely that he'll be looking at 1-AA and Div II programs.

He probably would have developed into quite a player at North Texas but instead became just a discarded depth player in the Big 12.

Nuhuh... Players that pick "big time" over North Texas always have great careers. We should never point out the busts bc better damn believe a lot of pro Mac people are going to point out the exception that is success stories. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. Now go play the remaining of your "career" at who gives a shit university.

Always? If you're referencing my post about Charles Walker, never did I say always. Here it is.

The fact that they are getting absolutely drummed is completely irrelevant to the point. He's getting reps and playing as a redshirt freshman for an 8-4 bowl team out of the BIG12. Go back and read the previous posts in this thread and you'll see posts like this.

Or implying he'll transfer because who won't crack the rotation, etc. It's a very common statement on here by various posters on the board anytime a kid commits to a P5 over us or is even considering or being recruited by a P5. I'm just trying to show people that when our targets choose a bigger school they aren't submitting themselves to an automatic career on the bench.

Look at the last sentence. "I'm just trying to show people that when our targets choose a bigger school they aren't submitting themselves to an automatic career on the bench." Of course not every player is going to become a starter. My point was that to think these kids are just going to ride the bench everytime they pick a big school over us is silly. And it's also not uncommon that if the kid is riding the bench at a bigger school, then he may just as well be riding the bench at UNT.

It's not the exception, either. And I have been very skeptical of Mccarney.

No, I wasn't referencing any one individual. It's a belief among many on and off this board that McCarney is in full control of this program. I have been one foot on and one foot off the McCarney bandwagon since I started following the program (ironically same year McCarney was hired) in 2011. My one foot on is officially off. People have turned a blind eye to his piss poor recruiting since day 1. It's 100% clear that it's not changing. Therefore, it's 100% clear that this program is going to remain at the same level of subpar for at least another 2 years. Losing out on athletes just like Mr. Keenan is the exact reason why we were just released in the USA Today poll today at #111 after this man's FOURTH season. Yet, for whatever reason people still have faith in this coach. Mr. Keenan is just scratching the surface as to why we are where we are.

Ben, I was kind of following you until I read where you are listed at somewhere around #999,999 in a poll of the top 1,000,000 college fans.

Lindenwood and Coach Ross are solid for a DII program. Recent NAIA move up. St Charles is across the river from the rest of St Louis and is a pretty nice area. A number of local DFW guys have moved through that program and they always have someone on the NFL radar. It doesn't hurt when the Rams are right next door.
